How Do I Make An Appointment?

Please email EtriboleAssistant@gmail.com to schedule an appointment.

Do You Offer Phone Sessions?

Yes, if it is appropriate. I have many clients who do not live in the area and phone sessions work well, especially for those who want to learn how to eat intuitively. However, it is not appropriate if you are in the throws of an eating disorder--then I would refer you to a specialist in your area.

What is the Difference Between a Nutritionist and a Registered Dietitian (RD)?

A registered dietitian is a nutrition professional, which has a legal definition. An RD minimally meets all of these criteria: bachelor's degree, post-graduate clinical experience, pass a national exam and maintains at least 15 hours of continuing education each year. There is no standard definition for "nutritionist". I am a registered dietitian and use both descriptions, RD and nutritionist. A "nutrition therapist" is someone who uses "process based" counseling (which helps you look at how thoughts and beliefs about your eating and your body effect your choices).

Do You Weigh Your Patients?

Only if it is medically necessary, which is typically the case if someone has anorexia and bulimia.

What are Your Fees and How Long do Your Sessions Last?

You can download my Office Policy & Fees sheet.

How Often Do You Meet with Someone?

It's highly individual and depends on the needs of the person. When someone has an eating disorder we typically start by meeting weekly. If someone has basic medical condition such as celiac disease, we will likely meet one or two times.

Do You Take Insurance?

No, but I can provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company. Some insurance companies cover nutrition counseling, however, many do not. You can call your insurance and find out if they pay for "medical nutrition therapy" for your particular situation. Often, a letter from your doctor referring you to a dietitian, with your stated diagnosis, will help obtain coverage. If you choose to submit an insurance claim, any reimbursement will go directly to you as you will have already paid me directly for your services.
